Sir Patrick Cormack
Born in 1939, educated in Grimsby and at the University of Hull where he graduated with Honours in English and History. He is a Freeman of the City of London and has been a member of the General Synod of the Church of England since 1995.
He was knighted in the New Year's Honours List in 1995. Worked as a schoolmaster before becoming MP for Cannock in 1970. Following boundary redistribution he was elected for South West Staffordshire in
February 1974.
The main themes of his campaign were:
Oppose the planned Wolverhampton airport.
Vote for the man who has been your MP for 35 years.
A vote for UKIP could let Labour in here.
