Norman Scarth
Born 1925. Served in the navy during World War II. Retired stud farmer. Jailed for six years in 2001 for attacking a bailiff with a chainsaw.
Contested the Chesterfield by-election in 1997 as an Independent Old Age Pensioner.
The main themes of his campaign were:
Vote for me and there will be ONE honest MP.
Justice for Andy McCardle, murdered by the state in prison.
Voting is a waste of time?? - NOT if you vote for me.
