Michael Carr
A Lancashire teacher and father of seven, he was elected to the local council as a Conservative 1n 1979, switching to the SDP in 1981. He was second in this constituency in 1983 & 1987.
The main themes of his campaign were:
Axe the poll tax and replace it with a local income tax.
Save our NHS - lets put patients first.
Vote for the local man - not the Swansea Conservative.
