Veronica Watkins
Born in Birmingham in 1957. Educated at Aston and Birmingham Universities.
Formerly a teacher, she joined the Liberal Party in 1986 and now works as a Political Researcher for Kirsty Williams AM.
Contested Newport West in 1999 Assembly elections and the 2001 General Election.
The main themes of her campaign were:
Labour always takes the Valleys for granted.
Conservative can't win here and Plaid don't deserve to.
More money for local hospitals, schools and the police.
