Maritime engineer and proprietor of the 'Cornish Maiden', a floating off-licence in international waters off Hartlepool. Acquitted in 1995 of smuggling 3.7 tonnes of cannabis from North Africa to Cornwall when it was accepted he made the trip under duress.

• Cut the duty rates on cigarettes and alcohol to European levels.

• Tag all sex offenders, paedophiles and persistent offenders.

• Give supervised free heroin to addicts to get them off the streets.
