Christopher Talbot

Now 62, he was born in Runcorn, Cheshire. He is a lecturer in engineering mathematics at Huddersfield University. Married with three adult children.

A member of the International Committee of the Fourth International for 40 years. Joined the Trotskyist movement as a student in 1967.

As a regular contributor to the World Socialist Web Site, he focuses on the African continent and writes articles on science policy from a socialist standpoint.  

The main themes of his campaign were:

• Oppose Labour's attacks on democratic rights.

• Withdraw all troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

• Defend jobs and living standards.
