Norman Scarth
Born 1925. Served in the navy during World War II. Retired stud farmer. Jailed for six years in 2001 for attacking a bailiff with a chainsaw.
Contested the Chesterfield by-election in 1997 as an Independent Old Age Pensioner. Contested the 2007 Sedgefield by-election as an anti-crime candidate.
The main themes of his campaign were:
Vote for me and there will be ONE honest MP.
Justice for Andy McCardle, murdered by the state in prison.
Get rid of the scoundrel (David Davis) by voting for me.
