Eileen Duke
Dr Eileen Duke, 60, is a native of Dundee who has lived in Glasgow for 28 years. Married with two grown-up children, she worked as a GP in South Glasgow for 23 years before retiring in 2007.
She is the Scottish Green Party's co-convenor for Glasgow and the West of Scotland. She was a Liberal Democrat activist for many years, but left the party over her concerns about the environment.
She joined the
Greens in 2005 and was eighth on the party's regional list for Glasgow in the 2007
Scottish
Parliament election.
The main themes of her campaign were:
Its time for serious action on climate change.
We need warm affordable housing.
We need a world class public transport system.
