Ian Borland
Born in 1947 at Elderslie, Renfrewshire and educated Newtonhead Primary, Ayr and Broughton Secondary High School, in Edinburgh. He
worked in the insurance broking industry from 1965 until 1992, when he formed
his own insurance Brokerage. He is a founder member and past president of the Rotary Club of West Fife and has been involved in local service duties and chairty events for 25 years. A keen curler,
he is Secretary of Dunfermline Curling Club. Contested the seat in the 2005 General Election.
The main themes of his campaign were:
Stop paying £39 million per day to the un-elected & corrupt EU.
Increase the basic state pension by £25 per week.
