Ann Garrett

Ann Garrett, 64, has lived in the constituency for 29 years and has been a member of the Green Party for 13 years. She is well known for her work for CND and is a member of Amnesty International and Friends of the Earth. She is presently teaching acting and voice at Morley College and media education at Greenwich University. Contested the seat in the 2005 General Election.

The main themes of her campaign were:

• Oppose all airport expansion and new road building.

• Green energy, not nuclear energy.

• Put people before big business.
